Ms. Julie Reimer

Kindergarten

HeidiFreemanJulie Reimer graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a B.A. in elementary Education and a minor in music. She has taught multiple grade levels including Pre-K, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 6th. Additionally, she has taught private piano and served as the WCA music teacher in the past. Most recently, before returning to the classroom, she directed a nonprofit, faith-based childcare and preschool ministry for  six years.

Family is the joy of Julie's life. Her four grown sons all attended Whitefish Christian Academy. Gaining daughters-in-law  and being called Grandma has made life even richer. Julie's interests include reading, playing for worship, health and nutrition, and connecting with a friend over a great cup of coffee or tea. She also volunteers as a mentor with The Refuge, a Kalispell-based ministry.

Team teaching Kindergarten with Heidi Freeman is a dream come true. Many years ago they actually taught each other's children at WCA, and the opportunity to now share a classroom brings great joy! Click here to email Julie.

Mr. James Chertudi

Fifth Grade

Mr. James ChertudiJames grew up in Salem, Oregon. Now that he lives in Montana, he could be considered an "Oregon transplant," which is only funny if you pronounce Oregon like Oregonians do. In 2011 he graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Japanese, and then promptly moved to Japan to live and work for three years. He taught English at the elementary and middle schools in Sagae, a small town in northern Japan. It was a wonderful experience, and he learned much about Japan, education, and life. Although James and his wife love Japan and the Japanese people, they decided to return to her home state to pursue teaching at WCA. While his wife, Rebecca Chertudi, taught Latin at WCA, James spent the year as a substitute teacher for the Columbia Falls school district, primarily at the high school. In his free time, James enjoys playing the drums. He feels very fortunate to be a part of WCA. Or, as they say in Japanese: sushi. Click here to e-mail James.

Mrs. Michelle Hernandez

7--8th Grade

Michelle HernandezMichelle Hernandez was born in Tokyo, Japan and moved to Montana when she was three years old. Here she spent a blissful childhood full of huckleberries, music, and snowball fights. Her family moved back to Japan in 2002 where they worked as organic farmers for a ministry helping special needs adults, which was run by the church her grandparents pastor. Michelle returned to and in 2013, graduated from Montana State University with a degree in English Education. Her first year of teaching was spent on the tropical island of Okinawa, Japan at a Christian bilingual, international church school teaching the 3rd-4th grade class as well as 8-12th grade English. She is thankful to be married to her best friend, Nikolas, to be back in Montana, and to serve as the 7--8th grade teacher at WCA.  Click here to contact Michelle.

Mrs. Rebecca Chertudi

Latin

RebeccaChertudiRebecca was raised in Missoula.  She has cultivated a love for languages from an early age, thanks to the influence of her father, who spoke to her only in Latin.  She studied Latin throughout high school and college, even as she pursued a burgeoning interest in Japanese.  In 2009 she graduated from Washington and Lee University with a degree in East Asian Languages and Literatures, and in 2011 moved to Japan.  For the next three years, she and her husband, James, taught English to elementary and junior high school students of all grades.  Although it was a wonderful experience, Rebecca looks forward to returning to Montana and teaching her first love, Latin.  She is excited to teach at WCA.  Click here to contact Rebecca.

Mrs. Lyn Campbell

Latin

LynCampbellMrs. Campbell graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a BA in Elementary Education, majoring in Language Arts with a minor in Reading. Lyn taught grades 2-6 in a small Christian school before marrying and homeschooling her own children. She and her husband Doug moved to the Flathead Valley in 1999 and fell in love with the area.  As a child, Lyn was the oldest of seven children in a Navy family, moving often and attending Christian elementary schools when they were available, so she greatly appreciates the foundation that Christian education provides. After homeschooling her own two daughters, Lyn has worked in the homeschool community, teaching weekly classes in writing, language arts, Latin, logic, and other subjects. Lyn is a logophile and life-long learner. She has taught herself Latin and is thrilled to be sharing her love of the language with WCA students..  Click here to contact Lyn.
